Wow, it has been already 6 years ago that we visited John and Nessa. We flew to Manchester to drive to the Yorkshire Dales. Beautiful place but more important beautiful people. We enjoyed Bolton Abbey (and tried a few stepping stones), Fountain Abbey, great food and excellent company.
